Measuring Your Needlepoint

All finishing prices are based on the square inches of the stitched area of your needlepoint project.

To keep measuring simple and consistent, the same method is used for every shape—including squares, circles, ornaments, and novelty designs. Simply measure the stitched area at its widest point and its tallest point, then multiply those two measurements to determine the total square inches.

For example:

  • A 4" × 4" coaster = 16 square inches

  • A snowman measuring 3" at its widest point and 4" at its tallest point = 12 square inches

  • A 5" diameter circle = 5" × 5" = 25 square inches

Please do your best when measuring and selecting the appropriate size category. Every project will be carefully measured upon receipt. There is no need to worry about getting the measurement exactly right—we will take care of the details.
